Prelaunch Assessments
Duke's Guidelines require new and substantially modified websites to be compliant before launch.
To ensure the developers and content creators have ample time to fix any issues that may arise, we request advanced notice before launch.
Custom development & any external vendor website | 2 weeks or preferably during development |
---|---|
Sites @ Duke Pro Drupal website | 1 week notice |
Sites @ Duke Express WordPress website | 3-5 days notice |
However; it is never too late to request a web accessibility assessment.
Request an assessment at web-accessibility@duke.edu.
Ongoing monitoring
Tier 1 and Tier 2 websites are monitored on a regular basis.
Tier 1 & Tier 2 | Automated checks every night for major changes |
---|---|
Tier 1 | Manual testing monthly (at least) |
Tier 2 | Manual testing twice yearly (at least) |
Duke depends on all its site owners to monitor their own websites and by following Duke's Web Accessibility Guidelines to maintain conformance with WCAG 2.0 AA Guidelines.
